My Therapuetic Approach
I see therapy as a shared space of remembrance and becoming — a place to return to yourself.
My approach is relational, trauma-informed, holistic, and shaped by anti-oppressive and anti-racist values. I honour the truth that our experiences are held not only in the mind, but in the body, the heart, the nervous system, and the world around us.
I work from a culturally sensitive and intersectional lens, recognizing that identity is layered: shaped by ancestry, migration, belonging, loss, resilience, and hope. I hold space for the complexities of who you are — the parts spoken, the parts quiet, the parts still emerging. Your story does not exist in isolation; it carries history, community, memory, and meaning. I also aim to make this space accessible, offering affordable psychotherapy to support your well-being without creating unnecessary barriers.
I choose to work primarily with psychodynamic, attachment-based, and emotion-focused approaches rather than highly structured or prescriptive methods because they allow for depth, nuance, and personalization. These approaches help us explore not only conscious experiences, but also the patterns, defences, and unconscious processes that shape how you relate to yourself and others. My focus is on understanding the influence of early relationships, attachment experiences, and emotional patterns, while uncovering the hidden dynamics, biases, and defences that can affect your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours.
If you are expecting highly structured therapy, this approach may feel messy, unstructured, or unpredictable at times—but to me, healing in its essence is like that: flowing naturally, at its own pace, and in rhythm with your needs. I do not push you to go through any change that you aren’t ready for; instead, we move together in ways that are safe, meaningful, and potentially helpful for you. By working this way, we create space for insight, emotional awareness, self-compassion, and lasting growth, supporting you in reconnecting with your inner strengths and living more authentically.
I am mindful of how my own identity shapes my practice. As a cisgender, white-passing, able-bodied, neurodivergent woman, my perspectives, privileges, and lived experiences inevitably influence the therapeutic space. I am fully open and committed to discussing this with you because transparency and mutual understanding are the foundation of a strong therapeutic relationship. Your experiences and the ways we may differ or relate are an important part of our work together.
I am not here to fix you; you are not broken.
I am here to walk beside you, to listen deeply, to hold what feels heavy, and to make room for what wants to unfold.
You can breathe. You can ask questions. You can feel without needing to explain.
Together, we’ll explore what’s been heavy and what wants to grow.
Therapy becomes a place to rediscover your strength, your clarity, and your capacity to live in alignment with yourself.
You don’t have to navigate this alone.
We’ll walk it together, step by step.
